Our Wedding Day

Ceremony at Callanderska Gården
At 17:00 drinks and fenomenal finger food will be served outside in the garden of Callanderska, see more in the link further below. The wedding ceremony will start at around 17:30, and it should be a quick one.
If the weather turns sour we have a backup plan, though we would appreciate you making an offering to your favourite weather god to guarantee fair weather. -
Dinner at Gripsholms Värdshus
Just around the corner of Callanderska is Gripsholms Värdshus (link below) where we will have the wedding dinner. The buffet will start at 18:30. Drinks will be provided throughout the dinner. For our thirstier guests a private cash bar will open after dinner.
The fun will unfortunately have to be over at midnight.
Where to stay?
Mariefred is a very popular tourist destination during summer time so if you need accommodation it’s wise to book well in advance. See below three great options, but there are also several places listed at AirBnB.
What to wear?
Semi-Formal.
The distances are short between locations so no need to pack your walking shoes.
Kids?
Babies are of course welcome but you will need to find babysitters for your older kids.
We were only able to invite 40 of closest friends and family members.
Gifts?
We’ve been living together for 16 years so we don’t need a cutlery set or a new toaster. Unless you have the perfect gift in mind we would love contributions to our family honeymoon in December 2025.
Thursday July 31st
If you would like to start the celebrations early we plan to have a get together with food and drinks; could be in our home or could be at a restaurant and could involve a sauna and lake swim. More info to come.
Saturday August 2nd
We will be staying at Gripsholms Värdshus during our Wedding night and will be enjoying their breakfast on Saturday morning. Come join us! We’re not rushing off on a honeymoon, our schedule is completely open. We would love to hang out!

At ÖSLJ, you can take an historical journey with authentic steam trains which are approximately 100 years of age. The ride will take you between Mariefred (Gripsholm Castle), via Läggesta, to Taxinge.

Mariefred’s biggest attraction. The garden is definitely worth a visit for a lovely walk. Go inside if you adore history and would be interested in seeing Sweden’s biggest portrait collection.

Hjorthagen - Deer Park
Just a 10 minute walk from Mariefred’s village center you can visit this incredible nature reserve. It’s home to about 100 fallow deer who roam freely through the ancient woodland. Perfect for a picnic.

Taxinge Dessert Buffé
Not the all you can eat kind, but still just as impressive. In a very pretty location too. The steam train and steam boat can take you to and from here!
